Yves Saint Laurent has just unveiled a new addition to their Le Vestiaire des Parfums collection Lavalliere. The collection for incorporating elements of the famous designer’s illustrious career into fragrance names and styles.
The Info:
The ‘lavalliere’, the French word for ‘bow’, was an accessory that frequented many Yves Saint Laurent catwalks. Taking its name from the Duchess of La Valliere, but originally inspired by a typically masc In Lavalliere Eau de Parfum, the silky texture of the bow is evoked in the creamy, delicate notes of fig. The floral green scent is completed by juicy blackcurrant and romantic, radiant rose, encapsulating elements that are both masculine and feminine to make for a beguiling unisex fragrance. Just like a lavalliere, this scent is the perfect finishing touch to any outfit, leaving you at your most confident. Ultimate accessory, the bow is by its very nature gender-fluid.
Inspired by the emblematic creations of Monsieur Saint Laurent, Yves Saint Laurent Beauté’s Le Vestiaire des Parfums Signature Collection is a collection of fragrances that each interpret a centrepiece of the couturier’s wardrobe. Sleek and structured tailoring meets delicately sheer fabrics to inspire these scents that truly encapsulate the disruptive yet timelessly elegant YSL style and spirit.

The Packaging: Sleek, Stylish and Timeless is what I think when look at the bottle and very much on brand with the YSL brand. The Le Vestiaire des Parfums Signature Collection demonstrates its decadent refinement in an architectural bottle of sheer, square-cut glass. The ornamental jewel cap mirrors the “grain de poudre” texture of Monsieur Saint Laurent’s beloved tuxedo fabric. The design of the bottle is just simple and classic with no complicated designs. Also to highlight something that is very unique is the cap is actually magnetic and locks back in when you place it above the bottle. The pink liquid is just gorgeous and as you know I am a sucker for anything pink.
The Scent:
Top Notes: blackcurrant, fig accord, bergamot
Heart Notes: geranium essence, rose, jasmine absolute
Base Notes: vetiver essence, cashmeran, musk
Although it does state that it is unisex I lean more towards a more feminine scent.
Definitely a Green Floral. I get a strong scent of rose, bergamot and blackcurrant. Although grapefruit is not one of the official notes I seem to get a strong dose of grapefruit.
Available at Brown Thomas. RRP €192 for 75ml and €264 for 125ml
