Ferrari man in red embodies the fast Ferrari lifestyle

The italian luxury car brand Ferrari describes this fragrance as a bold and intense scent that celebrates all that is thrilling about Ferrari. It captures the very essence of masculinity and embodies a new type of man, one who lives intensely: A new scent for a new breed of man.

The bottle is a master piece on it’s own with the double-lacquer finish of the classic Rosso Corsa Red trademark Ferrari colours.

Hello pretty!

The scent itself smells sweet and fruity but still manly due to the choice of fruits like bergamot and cedarwood.

Middle Notes – Lavandin, Golden plum, Orange blossom

Base Notes – Cedarwood, Tonka bean, Labdanum

Review: Lanvin Éclat de Fleurs

The bottle for Éclat de Fleurs is an update of the brand’s signature fragrance, Éclat d’Arpege. The bottle is carved into curved petals of a daisy. The bottle is topped with a beautiful rose diamond, under which two white gold rings intertwine to symbolize everlasting love. If that’s not enough grandeur for you it comes in a Plexiglas case tinted with rose lacquer. Absolute perfection.

I think Lanvin best described this fragrance best:

“Lanvin celebrates a blooming, free and spontaneous femininity with Éclat de Fleurs. This delicate, fruity, floral scent reveals a joyful and natural sensuality surrounded by warmth, lightness and flowers. Blown up by sparkles of freesia, the top notes diffuse their fresh and fruity tonalities enhanced by the subtle juiciness of pear. A green flash of violet leaves lifts the colorful nectarine and lands on a soft veil of white musks. The delicate petals melt into the skin in a caress of creamy sandalwood.”

This fruity floral scent is very fun and feminine, perfect for those looking for a soft and easy-to-wear spring or summer fragrance.

Top Notes: Pear.

Heart Notes: Jasmine, freesia, rose.

Base Notes: White musk, sandalwood

Available from Dis-Chem at R1295 for 100ml EDP and R995 for 50ml EDP.

This is part of the fruity floral family but I would say it has more of the fruity gene. I can picture its wearer being youthful, spontaneous and daring. A real carefree beach girl surfing in the summer sun.

Review Balmain Extatic Gold Musk EDP

The fashion house has brought out yet another beautiful scent. This one is perfect for winter and smells bold, feminine and strong. The difference is a more “Prêt-à-Couture”, more glamorous, more rock with EXTATIC.

The name “gold musk” and the colour of the bottle is actually derived from: the combination between the romantic transparency, the softness of the MUSK and the glitter, determined femininity of the GOLD.

Extatic Gold Musk is announced as a tempting, daring and luxurious interpretation of the original, with elegant floral – woody – musky character. This is a Floral Musk fragrance opening of a fresh and clean combination of a fusing and chiseled duet of Bergamot and Aldehydes. It has a bold solar heart infused with captivating white flowers: a radiant blend of Gardenia and Tiare revealing a fascinating femininity. At the base, you will find Akigalawood and Cashmeran as well as Musk illuminated by Benzoin and Sandalwood which wrap you in a precious spicy, creamy and warm trail made of golden sparkles.

I have really been loving this and is possibly my fav winter scent. It’s warm from the musk yet still really feminine from the floral notes. My 2 favourite perfume notes combined.

If you like scents like Nariciso Rodriguez – Musc for Her or Flower by Kenzo, then you’ll love this.

Available from: Foschini, Truworths, Dis-Chem, & Stuttafords.

60ml for R995

90ml for R1195

Are you a Hoity Toity kind of girl?

Hoity Toity is fun and flirtatious perfume line from Lentheric, inspired by French girls of the 1920s. Mon cheris, say bonjour to Hoity Toity Lola Jour and Hoity Toity Lola Nuit (pronounced ‘nwee’): Hoity Toity’s brand new fragrances. Say bonjour mademoiselles to Lola she hails from the most fabulous fashion capital Paris, she is a fashionista. Lola is cheeky and playful. The Lola girl knows exactly what she wants and more importantly she knows how to get it. Femininity and charm are her weapons of choice. She is spontaneous, mysterious and oh so irresistible.

I’m definitely a Lola girl which is probably why I feel in love with these scents immediately. I love how the packaging is so chic and elegant. Both scents are very delicate and feminine. Jour (meaning day) is my favourites it’s very floral and light I pick a lot of rose notes. Also love nuit (meaning night) both described perfectly in the name. Nuit is more sensual with powdery floral notes, a perfect night scent as it is a bit more mysterious and strong.

The hoity toity brand is pretty affordable you can snatch these up for under R200 but the lasting power is not so impressive but not horrible either I can get about half days wear from it before it completely fades but that’s not really an issue because they are so compact that you can just carry it around and reapply during the day.

Review: Jimmy Choo Illicit flower EDT

This is by far the most feminine fragrance Jimmy Choo has released. This fragrance is definitely a mix of chic, bold and beautiful. Pretty much the Jimmy Choo woman in a bottle. The bottle is the same as its older sister but doesn’t smell anything like it. Jimmy Choo Illicit is sweet and Jimmy Choo illicit is just floral.

As far as I can think this is the first EDT to be released but don’t be fooled the lasting power is amazing.

Note wise we have:

Top: Apricot, Mandarin and Freesia

Heart: Rose, Grapefruit Flower and Jasmine

Bottom: Musk, Sandalwood and Cashmeran

It has 2 of my favourites notes rose and musk and it is pink so what is not to love about this scent. I would say this is a fruity woody floral fragrance.

When I sniff it I get rose, sandalwood and grapefruit. It smells to me like a fruity version of Issey Miyake L’eau D’issey florale.

You can find this at Clicks, Dis-Chem, Edgars, Foschini, Red Square, Stuttafords & Truworths from the 15th September 2016 (Right in the middle of spring. Such a perfect spring scent.) For 40ml at R645 , 60ml at R945 and 100ml at R1095.
