Eye cream is an extremely controversial topic. Some people say it is overpriced moisturiser and others an essential so what to believe? As we get older and tired and stressed and all that stuff that comes from living an adult life(i’m sure many can relate), our bodies take a hit. Unless you’re a generic anomaly or have some kind of wildly stress-free career like “massage tester”, your eyes are likely going to be the first causalities(I started noticing fine lines when I was about 13). Eyes both windows to the soul and reflections of our lifestyle, our eyes are surrounded by baby-thin skin that tends to overreact to all these elements, so the point of this type of cream is to provide that extra TLC, tackling sagging, spots, puffiness, crinkles, and the dreaded crow’s-feet. But, with all that magic comes a price, and it’s usually a lot higher than your regular moisturiser.

“Dark Circle Fix is 3-In-1 formula, clinically proven to reduce under eye puffiness and tighten the skin around the eye area. A triple action eye cream to reduce the appearance of puffiness + dark circles, this refreshing cream hydrates the skin to help fight against premature aging.” Enriched with Red Algae (brightening), peptides (puffiness) and shea butter for nourishment. I like how this is not housed in your typical pot, but a air-tight pump bottle. You can easily customize how much or little (you don’t need much of this directions state a pea size amount for both eyes in sufficient) you need dispensed. And also makes you feel better as you won’t be contaminating the product and ingredients are better preserved in these type of containers.
The cream itself is quite nice. It’s a very light scented light textured moisturizer, with almost a gel-cream type consistency that is light but still hydrating. I find it works best when stored in the fridge. That way, the gel is cold and refreshing under my eyes. I prefer my eye creams to be gel-like( very similar to my all-time fave Clarins eye contour gel) as I find it absorbs easier and feels more refreshing as opposed to a heavy rich eye creams (like the kiehl’s creamy eye treatment) which are too rich for my eye area and actually leave white spots.
I must stress though I don’t have hectic dark circles but I do love using eye creams for anti-ageing and hydrating the eye area. I must also stress that dark circles can also be caused by the skin under the eyes being too thin it’s like when a person can see veins under their skin it is a difficult problem to solve.
I’ve been using this as part of my nightly skincare routine for almost two weeks, and have seen some slight differences in the under eye area. I really didn’t think that it would make much of a difference in terms of lightening my dark circles, but I think it actually may have. It doesn’t take away all of the darkness under my eyes, but it does make my eyes feel awake. Nothing so astoundingly that I can toss all my concealer, but a tad-something is better than nothing, right? The puffiness under my eyes has definitely reduced but placing anything cold on the eye can easily solve that problem.
Overall, I like this eye cream. I would defiantly recommend it if you’re looking for something to try out – just don’t expect miracles!
Lovely post! I was hoping for some sort of magic from this eye cream because I have heard great things about this brand as a whole. Thanks for sharing,
xx
