The formula:
This is product is an improvement on the OG Revitalift range particularly the retinol serum. Basically they have combined the added Niacinamide to make this the perfect power couple. Additionally also improving the packaging.
I have been using retinol serums for roughly 2 years now and I like the fact the Revitalift Laser Retinol + Niacinamide Pressed Night Cream is a 2 in 1 for me so I can just go in with this instead of having to apply a serum and then a night cream.
Retinol is great for anti-aging as it simulates the skin’s natural production of collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin which will make the skin more firm and supple.
Niacinamide is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that prevents and corrects hyperpigmentation.
Retinol is a pale yellow colour and the cream is also yellow which tells me there is a good dose of retinol in the cream itself. The cream is really light weight and non-greasy. When I apply it, it feels very cooling and hydrating (probably from the hyaluronic acid). It absorbs really quickly too. I do feel a bit of a tingle when applied but nothing unbearable, this is just a sign that the retinol is working. Since I am a long time user of retinol my skin did not have any reaction to the retinol which I do remember having long ago when I first started using retinol. Retinol is quite an active ingredient and can cause redness and dryness but if this does happen to you then it is recommended you gradually build this into your into your skin routine so first week apply it 2 nights per week. Then the second week apply it every other night. By the third week you should be able to use it daily. But this varies from person to person so definitely go even slower if you are experiencing a reaction. Because this is built into a cream it is easier for beginners than applying a concentrated serum. My skin felt soft and hydrated after application.
This is available at Boots and other leading pharmacies for RRP of €31.99 but I see they are currently on special at boots for 1/3 of the price.
