Urban Decay is one of those brands which is famous for their eye shadow palettes namely the naked palettes and is always a brand you can trust in terms of consistency of quality. The mini palette is the latest from the range and is a mini of the Naked Wild West.

The Info:
UK’s No.1 palette launch of last year goes mini. Naked Wild West rides again. You asked & we delivered, your 6 most wanted Naked Wild West shades in one limited edition mini palette so you can take your favourite vegan formula shades on the go. This palette is ready for all your wild travels with the perfect assortment of matte & shimmer finishes delivering up to 12 hours of desert inspired eyeshadow looks. Use these ultra blendable vegan formula shadows solo or layer to create a variety of looks ranging from mild to wild.

The Packaging:
The snake skin patterned case with gold embossed lettering gives all the feels of the wild wild west. But more importantly it is made from cardboard which makes it very light weight, but still sturdy and the magnetic clasp shuts tightly. It also contains a generously sized mirror so perfect for on the go. The compact size makes it very travel friendly so you can “Go Wild anywhere”

The Shades:
The palette contains 6 desert inspired warm toned neutrals, including 3 shimmers and 3 mattes.
Standoff: This is a soft beige matte. Perfect for an all over the lid base shade as it matches my lid colour exactly.
Spur: A pale peach, matte color shade.
Cowboy Rick: A warm silver creamy metallic. This is probably my favourite shade from the palette. I like to use this as a highlighter shade to finish off the look on the inner corners of my eye and dab with my finger some of this on the middle of my eyelid. It is just so sparkly and whilst you can see the glitter partials it is not in any way chucky. It can also offer a nice little sheen to the lid if you use it on it’s own.
Bud: A soft turquoise shimmer. Probably the least neutral out of the palette but a very good statement on trend shade at the moment which goes well with the browns in the palette.
Rustler: A deep bronze metallic. I like to use this colour as an all over the lid shade as the base for a brown smoky eye.
Whiskey: A rich brown matte shade. The is a perfect shade to create a smoky eye. I like to apply this on my outer corner and also in the crease of my eye to create depth. I also use it over my eyeliner to set the liner.
Based on the colours in this palette it contains the perfect shades to create a brown smoky eye which is what I like to use it for.

Formula:
Firstly the formula is completely vegan free which is great. I have never had any issue with any of the eye shadows from this brand as they are always consistently good quality. The colours contain a good mix of shades, that go between matte and shimmers, which complement each other so you can play around and create many looks with just this palette alone. All the shadows are highly pigmented and velvety soft. The shades are all really blendable. It claims to last up to 12 hours but I had probably worn mine for longer than 12 hours and the shadow stayed put all night with zero-fallout until I took it off and that was around 14 hours.
The verdict:
Urban Decay Naked Wild West palette is a winner. And because it is a mini it is also more pocket friendly.
