My Laser Beautique Experience-painless laser hair removal and eye lash extentions

My under arm hair have always been annoying to me. My hair is quite dark and quite thick so I have to shave daily and even then there are pesky ingrown hairs. So when I heard about the pain free laser hair removal I knew I had to try it.

So firstly a bit of info about this ground breaking technology:

The Laser Beautique offers laser treatments using the revolutionary Soprano, which is the GOLD STANDARD 810nm diode laser for permanent hair reduction. It is the world’s first effective laser hair removal system to be FDA approved as “painless”.

Treatment benefits include:

1.     Maximum comfort, minimum fuss

2.     IN-MOTION™ technology allows for virtually PAIN-FREE laser hair removal without anesthesia or numbing gel

3.     GOLD STANDARD 810nm diode laser gives superior, more predictable, more reliable results

4.     Permanent hair reduction on all pigmented hair on all skin types (Asian and black skin types), including tanned skin, all year round

5.     Suited to successfully treat Men and Woman Alike

6.     Faster results which often mean fewer with clinic visits and fewer treatments are needed.

7.    This translates into savings for you!

Other machines on the market are painful and have known to cause burning and scarring, which can sometimes be permanent.

What makes this treatment Pain-Free?

What makes this laser treatment different from other treatments is that an 810-nm diode laser is utilized. Unlike previous generation systems, the energy from the laser is delivered via low fluence (energy) pulses at a rapid 10 pulse per second repetition rate. The temperature of the hair follicle containing the cells responsible for hair re-growth is raised slowly and the follicle is destroyed. This rise in temperature provides clients with deep dermal heating, a sensation that many users have compared to a soothing hot stone massage. This turns the otherwise uncomfortable process of hair removal into a very enjoyable one.

This revolutionary method of delivering low-level energy via a burst of rapid pulses is what enables Pain-Free yet Extremely Effective hair removal. By constantly moving the hand-piece during treatment, the energy is delivered uniformly, eliminating skipped spots and ensuring patient comfort.

In layman’s terms, what makes the Soprano XL different from other painful lasers is that older, conventional type lasers use a high peak power via the pick and place method of treating which feels like an elastic band snapping on your skin. The laser therapist would zap and move and zap and move, with every zap, the treatment becomes more uncomfortable. At The Laser Beautique we use the Soprano’s In Motion™ technology to gradually increase the power.

It can be compared to having a hot bath. If you drawer a boiling hot bath and try and get in, you will burn yourself. BUT if you get into a warm bath and gradually increase the temperature of the water you can withstand even higher temperatures without feeling any pain or discomfort. We are therefore able to treat our clients more aggressively yet painlessly.

Results

For ultimate results, we recommend between 8 to 12 treatments, every 4 to 6 weeks- depending on the individual’s hair growth, skin type and hormones etc.

 My experience:

Upon my first session I already noticed a miraculous difference, the grow back was slower and there weren’t many hairs. I have been to 3 sessions now. The sessions are really quick (less than half an hour). You feel light pricking and the heat sometimes gets a bit uncomfortable but this is only towards the end. All in all though there is slight pain but not much. I really recommend it it is pretty life changing. I had mine done at Bedford Centre where Tzvia Hermann the owner of the chains office actually is. I also had lash extensions done there and a lash lift. The name may say laser but they offer everything you could need from a spa but they are just experts in laser.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING YOUR EYELASH EXTENSIONS PROCEDURE?

The treatment takes around an hour.I walked into the spa and was welcomed by the beautician (Gerdi), who showed me into my treatment room. It looked a lot like a massage treatment room, so that put me at ease, but it had a massive lamp-type thingy hanging over the bed, which reminded me of the dentist. Suddenly less at ease.

I laid down on the bed and closed my eyes and prayed that when I woke up, I wouldn’t look like this:

Firstly, my eye lids were cleaned by the beautician, who ran warm water over them. Then she placed a sticky pads under my eyes to catch any fall outs.

(For those of you who have an irrational fear of things coming towards their eyes — like my 14 year-old self that thought eyeliner was trying to blind me — don’t worry, because your eyes are closed for the whole treatment.)

She then got cracking with the extensions, using tweezers to pick up the individual falsie, dip the end in glue and stick it to a bunch of my real lashes. The process was super relaxing!

DOES GETTING EYELASH EXTENSIONS HURT?

Absolutely not. There isn’t any prodding or poking or scratching involved in the procedure, but if you open your eyes (even just a little bit) during the treatment, the fumes from the glue can make your eyes burn a little.

WHAT DO YOUR EYES LOOK LIKE WITH EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

Well, in my opinion, BLOODY AMAZING. With the set I got, I looked like what I normally do with mascara on — but with no crummy side effects like not being able to rub your eye or cry when you’re watching The Bachelor finale.

WHAT IS IT LIKE HAVING EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

If you’ve never had it before, it does feel kinda foreign. There is definitely a sense that there is more on your eyelids than usual, but it’s the same sensation that you have wearing mascara: You know something’s there, but it doesn’t bother you.

Lifestyle-wise, everything is pretty much the same. The only thing different is that you don’t have to put on mascara and that it’s best to avoid oil-based products around your eyelashes while you have the extensions in, so you don’t break down the glue and the lashes fall out quicker.

DO I NEED TO GET MY EYELASH EXTENSIONS REMOVED?

You can undergo eyelash extensions removal treatments from a spa, but I think you would only do this if your eyelash extensions were pissing you off or hurting your eyes.

If you don’t get them physically removed, they fall out within three to four weeks — so my suggestion is to enjoy them for as long as possible!

ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS WORTH IT?

In my opinion, yes. Sure they are pretty expensive but they have a huge impact on the way you look — so think it as a good investment and sacrifice those lunches with the girls or reach for the Moët & Chandon instead of the Dom!

I haven’t worn a stitch of makeup since getting them because I feel like I’ve already made an effort, just by having them. The only downside: they’re pretty addictive. I’m already dreading the day that they start to fall out and I’ll be back to plain old lash times — but I think my bank balance will be happier if I reserve this beauty treat for special occasions and ‘treat yo self’ times. But for now, I will enjoy my luscious lashes and rake in the compliments on the reg.
