Review: John Frieda Frizz ease forever smooth and I discuss the craze that is reverse hair washing

The secret to the John Frieda frizz ease forever smooth is the Contains Frizz-Mending complex and natural olive oil. The claims are: “It will help you achieve 3x smoother hair compared to non-conditioning shampoo in a single use, thanks to its revolutionary technology, the Frizz Immunity Complex. This unique formula binds the protein inside your hair strand to help regulate the moisture content of your hair, preventing it from absorbing moisture from the environment that can lead to swelling and misalignment of the hair fibers, causing frizz. It’s also formulated with pure coconut oil that works deep inside the hair to help eliminate frizz at the core. Your hair is left with overall added control, style, maintenance and manageability.” It does not contain any silicone so you don’t need to worry about buidup on your hair.

The Shampoo lathers well. After the first wash my hair feels silky, soft, manageable and frizz free. Totally kicks frizz in the butt. Doesn’t weigh down the hair or make it feel greasy or oily. Really cleans the hair well without stripping it. That being said I really do love this range I always battle with frizz if I use products other than Moroccan oil and no matter how much I straighten my semi wavy hair I still tend to see frizz but even without straightening my hair is much smoother. I highly recommend this.

Exclusively sold at Clicks for R109.95 and there is currently a 3 for 2 promotion.

Now let’s discuss reverse hair washing this concept was brought out by TRESemmé and basically entails Conditioning and then shampooing.

I have a confession I hate conditioners because they make me hair feel super greasy and heavy but the problem is solved with this amazing technique. I know I know it sounds a bit weird but it actually works, especially if you have fine hair (to add volume) or if conditioner is a bit too heavy for your locks (my situation). By using pre-shampoo conditioning, the harsh cleansers in shampoos like sulfates that strip your hair of its natural oils can’t penetrate as deep and damage the hair follicles. The barrier that the conditioner makes protects the hair for a more gentle and nourishing cleanse. With this method you will experience less hair breakage, softer and shinier locks.Reversing the order means your hair still gets all the moisturising benefits of using conditioner but you’re not left with that horrible, weighted, almost-greasy feeling that happens. My hair felt more smoother and softer, looked shiner and not frizzy. You can basically do it with any conditioner and shampoo duo. Now it is not recommended you alternate this method and sometimes still do shampoo first because your hair still needs a deep cleanse every now and then but this is an absolute life changer! You really need to try it
