When one runs a successful blog it comes with a lot of invites to events as you’ve seen me sharing tweets and pictures if you follow me on social media. I attend on average 5 events a week and while I try to attend each and every event I get invited to it is sometimes impossible. Sometimes I have to attend 2 events in one day and with attending events especially with product launches comes many hours working on blog posts so it is not as glamourous as it may seem in the photos.

Two weeks ago I attended a Jen Su’s book launch party at Stuttafords Sandton city and as always the party was always amazing and the guest list included celebrities and media. I think Jen Su is a name everybody knows but in case you didn’t she’s an extremely talented woman, she is a TV and radio personality and she even spoilt us with a piano and song performance. As Gareth Cliff said “no event is complete without Jen Su there!” and this is absolutely true 70% of the time I will see Jen around an event. Jen arrived in a Ted Baker dress, Louis Vuitton hand bag and her signature Phillip Treacy hat.

Now if you were thinking: “oh this is another celebrity who brought out a book again? Who still reads books?” think again this book is not some celebrity nagging for attention by writing a autobiography about themselves Jen actually said the reason she wrote the book was so she could try to help others by imparting her advice on how to build your own brand, sure it does include her own journey and struggles like her personal hardships, addictions, eating disorder and health scare but she only opened herself up to prove she is human too and it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

I can’t even remember the last time I could bring myself to pick up a book to read as I am always “reading” my phone or computer screen but I could see myself finishing this book as you can actually learn something from it. Think of it as reading something like fifty shades of grey (dare I say) interesting yet still educational? Currently you can find her book at Exclusive books and other leading book stores for R160. Thanks to Jen Su and Stuttafords for the invite and all the other sponsors who made the event so successful and great.
