Introducing Doctrine: Irish Skincare to believe In

I recently attended the launch, which was so exciting to be able to meet the founders who are so passionate about their brand.

What is it For?

Doctrine meaning a group of people coming together and best fits the story of how the innovative Irish skincare brand founded by industry veterans Mark O’Sullivan, Caoimhe Donoghue, and cosmetic chemist Tracey Ryan with a combined experience of over 30 years.

Doctrine believe that skincare is not just a routine but an immersive experience. With products that engage all the sense to create an luxurious experience. Skincare for everyone. They are also vegan, cruelty-free and all ingredients are sustainably sourced.

Currently there are 2 product in the range (Radiant C Serum and Divinity Cleansing Balm) but we were promised their are more in the works that will be coming during the year.

Hero Ingredients:

Doctrine Divinity Cleansing balm contains very unique products that I have never seen in any skincare before the first being calming spirulina and yarrow extract, which is a native irish weed and gives it it’s unique blue colour. It also contains lavender which has a really calming scent.

Doctrine’s Radiant C Serum is formulated with Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, a stable oil-soluble Vitamin C, and Hemisqualane, a biotech ingredient derived from sugarcane, this lightweight serum illuminates your complexion, smooths fine lines, and leaves your skin firm and radiant.

How does it feel on the skin?

Doctrine Divinity Cleansing balm just smells divine (excuse the pun). I always like to use cleansing balms to remove my makeup as I find they are really gentle and melt away makeup, impurites and SPF with out me having to tug and rub my skin. Really giving a deep clean to the skin. This plant based butter just melts away all my makeup in one wash. It does not sting my eyes when I use it to remove my eye makeup. It turns into a milky texture once it comes into contact with water and leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated.

Doctrine’s Radiant C Serum: I always love a vitamin C serum as it is great for brightening skin and improving skin tone and texture. First it is a stabilized Vitamin C so it won’t go “off” like some other brands I have tried. I see from the consistency that it product contains very pure ingredients. When I apply it it seeps into my skin in seconds as there is no trace at all of it on the surface of my skin, like some serums where you have to wait a while for the product to dry down into the skin. The serum is very light and I don’t feel or see it at all once applied. I have been using it for a few weeks now and I have noticed my skin is brighter and firmer.

What’s Special About The Design?

The products all come in the dark navy colour which is the signature colour of the brand as well as can protect the product from light to really preserve the ingredients. The packaging is made from recyclable glass so it has a heavy luxe feel and look. The cartons are also compostible.

How Do You Use It?

Doctrine Divinity Cleansing balm: Use AM & PM. Apply a small amount of balm onto dry palms and then lightly massage onto the face in circular motions. Gradually add water until the balm becomes a milk and then rinse with warm water.

Doctrine’s Radiant C Serum: Use as part of your AM routine. Apply 2/3 drops to clean skin each morning. Follow with moisturiser.
